Speech with Parker is a battle of the wills. Signing can be frustrating as well. This kid knows that I pretty much always know what he wants so why should he actually have to ask?
And waste all that energy, you know?
But we’ve discovered how to work around the stubborn. When really motivated Parker will indeed sign for what he wants.
And for Parker, motivation comes in the form of a giant exercise ball, and a vintage blanket.
Lying (laying?) on his back, upside down on the giant exercise ball, Parker is beyond thrilled.
A position that would make most of us a wee bit nauseous, thrills him to no end. He’ll sign ‘more roll’ over and over, giggling all the way.
Toss him in a make-shift swing and his smile lights up my heart. For this he’ll break down and sign “more swing Mom”.
Mom. It’s my favorite sign of all.
i love to see the smile on his face!
That smile is precious!
