A Brave Hero and his AmTryke!

It’s official.  We received word today that Parker will be getting his adaptive bike!  Yeeee-Haw!   He’ll be getting the AmTryke ProSeries 1512 with Rear Steering Control.

Over the Moon.  That’s how we feel.  Over the Moon with excitement and thankfulness.  Being able to ride a bike will open a whole new world for Parker in so many ways.

Parker’s PT has offered to stop by a couple of times to make sure we get him started off on the right pedal.

We’re going to need more support, and if all goes well, we’ll be able to get that help through www.nowican.org.  That was one of the questions I specifically asked when we did our initial tour……if they would be able to help our Hero cruise on down the road on his sweet new wheels.

I still haven’t been able to come up with a fundraiser that fits the bill. I don’t think I have time to put together another yard sale. I had thought about making bread and selling it for $5.00 a loaf.  And then I realized that would mean me selling 600 loaves of bread.

I’m thinking I’m gonna need a Plan B.  And C. And D.

Someone mentioned a Boutique Yard Sale.  I guess this is when people who sell Pampered Chef, Scentsy, Discovery Toys, etc., come together to sell in a giant out door boutique.  Anyone else heard of that?

It would be awesome if I had something great to sell.  But we pretty much sold everything that was worth much of anything a long time ago.

If anyone has any ideas, please feel free to leave them in the comments section.

PS:  Have you heard?  We’re calling it Independence for Parker and you can read about it here.
