You can learn a lot from a Picture Book

Parker has known this secret since his was his littlest ever.  You can learn a lot from a Picture Book.

picture books

ABC’s and 123′s.

One Duck Stuck

Rhyming Words.

Bear Snores ON

How to be a friend.

Jan Brett

Books with gorgeous illustrations and stories from the Bible.

Jan Brett The Hat

Books about the seasons.

Freight Train Doald Crews

Books we use in our monthly learning activities.  With this book alone you can teach colors, trains, patterning, descriptive words, and more.

Where we store Parker's books.

Parker has a drawer in our family room side board where we keep his board books.  It’s easy for him to grab a book and ask someone to read it to him.  We keep his more expensive books on a shelf in his classroom.  They aren’t quite as hardy as his board books.

We have tons of books on our ‘dreaming of list’.  Each holiday Parker usually gets a book.  Especially since he can’t eat holiday treats.

Some of the books on his list include:

A Ball for Daisy

One Fine Day

Noah’s Ark

Floatsam

Miss Rumphius

Graphic Alphabet

My Friend Rabbit

In The Nest

Counting is for the Birds

If You Decide to go to the Moon

On the Launch Pad

The Little Island

The next time you are at the bookstore, or the library or even the thrift store or yard sale, and you see one of the titles shared in this post, pick it up!  I think you and your child will be pleased!

Have you seen the Gallop books?

The animals run back and forth when you open the page. Always a favorite.
