On Sunday, after everyone was full of Father’s Day dinner, I gathered my family around and asked them the question. I was nervous. I know how much work what I was about to ask of them was going to be. I also know that Parker’s family is willing to do pretty much anything for this Bravest of Heroes of ours.
My Mom and I had been throwing around fund raising ideas to get Parker to Now I Can.org. Every idea led us back to what we seem to know best: Yard Sales.
We shop them.
Heavens knows we’ve held enough of them in our time.
We’ve helped others to gather enough things to sell at their Yard Sale Fundraiser.
Yup, all of our ideas led right back to having a yard sale and using all the proceeds to pay for Parker’s intense therapies.
They are a LOT of work, but if we all pulled together, my Mom and I were pretty sure we could raise the payment for Parker to be able to attend his sessions at Now I Can.org.
All I needed to do was put it to a family vote.
You know what? Each and every one of the people Parker loves the most agreed to once again put their time and talents together and host another yard sale for the littlest Hodson boy.
There is no way I could meet all of Parker’s needs on my own.
Luckily I have a family willing to pull together and make sure their little brother’s needs are met.
Blessed. That’s the word I’m looking for. Blessed.
PS: We’ll be looking for items to sell at Parker’s Yard Sale. If you are local and have items that you are no longer in need of, that someone else might be able to use, please leave a message in the comment section or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you!
