Sharing The Love We’ve Been Shown

by Tammy & Parker on August 13, 2008

ETA: The Situation with Tropic Thunder continues with “Full Retard” shirts up on Ebay. Please click over to 5 Minutes For Special Needs to find out how you can get these auctions banned.

I can’t even begin to share with you all that has been done for Parker and our family over the last few years. (You reading this Julie, Melody, Michelle, Amy, Trish, Wiz, Karen and my beloved T21 board…not to mention a few incredible neighbors and family members too?)

Yeah. Parker is loved.

Without the help from those who love this kid, well……Reed and I simply don’t know where we would be right now.

Reed and I have a list of all the love we have been shown and we often talk about how we plan on paying this love forward.

It is going to take a while.

Oh, we have been able to do a few things here and there. There have been lawns mowed and driveways shoveled as a way to give back some. Sprinklers have been fixed and neighbors have been helped.

I accepted the position of Managing Editor over at www.5minutesforspecialneeds.com as a way to bring families who live life with special needs (and even those that don’t!) together in a safe forum to share thoughts, feelings and ideas as a very small attempt to give back to this amazing blogging community.

But all of this pales compared to what Janice and Susan over at www.5minutesformom.com have been up to with HP. They have come up with an opportunity to help out other families that face financial struggles just as we do with Parker’s medical bills.

How about a FREE HP laptop AND printer:

Try to think of a family who has extraordinary circumstances and whose lives could be changed by a laptop and printer.

We will select a few nominations and then let random.org help us with the final decision.

Before we announce the winner, we will require that we talk on the phone with that family and confirm the situation. Please be HONEST.

I’m glad the new laptop I just bought is an HP! (Well, Compaq, but I think HP bought them.) With all this Tropic Thunder mess going around, it’s lovely to hear some good news. :)

Parker gives me so much. He gives me a smile every time I see his sweet smile. In fact, this picture http://good-times.webshots.com/photo/2803856810102894912RLHPLK may just be my all time favorite of him. I may just print it out and frame it so every time I see it I remember to pray for that sweet boy (and you, of course!)

Ok, yeah, printing out pictures of other peoples’ kids off the internet…..that’s weird. ;)

This is wonderful Tammy! Your family is so beautiful. I think the best gift anyone could get is seeing Parker doing well! And all of the pictures! No one could ever expect you to give back. Everyone just wants Parker to be healthy and your family together and happy! You are all definitely loved. You are all beautiful, thankful, loving and caring people. I think anyone who knows you is a better person for it!

Much love,
Amy

Parker is so precious. You and your family are an inspiration. Just seeing his face reminds me why I felt such a strong passion for my career as an NICU nurse.

Congratulations :) Sounds like HP and 5MFM are really going the distance in making a difference.

I was tickled pink for you, Tammy, when I read at 5 Minutes for Mom that HP had given you a new laptop and printer. Hooray for blogging mobility!

You and I had an email exchange recently about my helping you let bloggers know about 5MFM’s new sister site, 5 Minutes for Special Needs. Just wanted to let you know that I’m working on it. It’s a LOT easier when Blogger hasn’t locked you out of your blog! LOL

I just ran over to the new site and read all the profiles in “Meet Our Team.” I can’t remember when I was so inspired…you are working with some amazing people.
