As many of you have noted, things have been disappearing from our site.
Things like:
- The ability to see past posts by just using your back button.
- The other 6 advertising spaces that used to be on the right hand side of our blog. (BTW, anyone you know who would like some excellent advertising space at a very reasonable price?)
- And a bunch of other stuff that is too frustrating to mention.
The cause of all this frustration? A blog host that is straight out of the dark ages.
Not to mention a total pain in the butt to deal with.
So, after much pleading and begging and other things not mentionable on a family blog, Reed finally agreed to fund our move from the host from hell to Host Gator.
The move will be handled by Lisa, of lisaboyd.com, a gal who knows her business people. We had to bring in the big guns cause not even our new web designer dared to attempt a move like this.
Did I mention that my present host sucks?
Lisa wanted me to let everyone know that the DNS change from the old host to the new host is going to take a few days. Which means that your visits here might look all funky for the next little bit.
Which, btw, is NOT a reason to quit stopping by.
This is just the first step in getting all the cool features that we lost back.
I wonder if Lisa has a way to restore a Mama’s sanity?
Or her ability to fit into size 6 jeans?
Okay. Never mind.
When we are back up and running I’ll tell you all about the challenge I accepted to live off my food storage for the entire month of January.
For an entire family of EIGHT, plus various friends and other family.
Well, except for $100.00 to go towards things like fruit and veggies, or any cheap or free deals at the grocery store.
And Diet Coke.
Cause not even Armageddon is gonna keep me away from my Diet Coke.
And that’s a fact.

Good luck with the bloggy move.
I sent off two big boxes of clothes and DVDs to you. UPS says you should see them on Friday. As always, keep what you want and sell the rest in your yard sale! Just watch for the boxes that say ‘With Love, From Texas’ on them.
Well, I’m thinking of sending a care package – of food! You the Woman! To take on such a challenge! Then again, I’m confident you can do it.
On the blog-business-issue, sympathy. I’ve heard Gator being advertised. Hope it works-out. I’ve been on TypePad for over 3 years now. They tolerate my tantrums.
Thank goodness for simple things in life like Diet Coke.
I’m on hostgator and they are on twitter, if you have any problems you tweet it and they will get back to you quite quickly and publicly.
I can wield a mean batch of CSS, but for matters like this… ya gotta bring out the big guns. And Lisa is a fantastic big gun.
She’s like the Girl Geek Squad on crack. Love that about her.
Congrats on coming out of the dark ages. You couldn’t have been in better hands for that move.
