[...] When Melody emailed me with her fantastic idea for this love offering for Parker, I was thrilled! (I have mentioned little Parker to you before - he is such a sweet little guy. Along with Down Syndrome,Parker has several very costly and life threatening medical problems such as pulmonary hypertension. Because of limited coverage from their insurance company to pay for necessary medical equipment, adequate supplies, medical services and ongoing therapy and the fact that the family is unable to qualify Parker for Medicaid or any other government provided services, the medical bills are simply too outrageous for them to bear.)
[...] Everyone loves freebies, and when you can help someone while qualifying for said freebie, well, that’s even better This little cutie is Parker (obviously),a little boy with not only Downs Syndrome but also a whole host of critical medical problems. His family’s insurance company, perhaps feeling the need to perpetuate the insurance stereotype, refuses to assist with the expense of medical devices that are absolutely vital to Parker’s well-being.Melody of Slurping Life has generously decided to host a fund-raiser for Parker from July 23 through July 27. The minimum donation is $2, and all donations will go directly into an account that can be accessed by Parker’s parents. As a bonus, Melody is offering prizes (donated by herself and others) which include Hewlett Packard’s offering of a digital camera/printer/accessories package retailing for approximately $430. Everyone who donates at least $2 (larger contributions are certainly welcome, too) during July 23 through July 27 will be eligible to win a prize.Melody contacted me about donating a prize, and I was most happy to be a part of this fund raiser. RS Designs is donating a custom website design, valued at $55 - $120 (depending on options chosen). The winner of this prize may choose 3 of the following options: [...]

[...] Perhaps you have already met Tammy and Parker and you are posting away on your own blogs. But in case you haven’t met them yet, let me introduce you. Parker is a beautiful, little boy who has a number of serious medical conditions that not only make life very difficult for him and his family, but produce huge medical bills that insurance does not adequately cover. Because of these costs, the family is in constant financial stress, in danger of losing everything. (In addition to Parker, Tammy and her husband have five older children to support.)
[...] Today I want to introduce you to Parker. I found Parker after visiting Melody. Parker is a beautiful little boy. Please take the time to pop over to Praying for Parker. Parkers parents, Tammy and Reed, are faced with medical issues for Parker that I can’t even fathom. A benefit concert will be held 29 June in Utah for Parker. Tammy has thought of calling the concert off, but then after much thought, reconsidered, deciding ‘the show must go on’. For those of us who are unable to attend, we can still help. Click on the link below for more information. [...]
