EKGs, RSV and other letters I hate

I should have known last night when Parker climbed up into my lap and promptly zonked out that something was up.

My kid that is constantly moving at the speed of light, slowing down enough to fall asleep by 7:00 p.m.

We’ve been dealing with lots of mucus and super junky lungs.

A little boy with Down syndrome asleep on the couch.

This morning Parker woke up and we knew something was wrong.

Temp taken at 100.3.  Parker usually runs low.  So we’ve given Moltrin and have an appointment late this afternoon.

A little boy with Down syndrome

I always tell people that Parker’s two worse months are March and April.  Para Flu B.  RSV.  They’ve all come to visit right around this time.

We’re hoping this is just a false alarm.  He’s been fighting something for awhile, then it seemed to go away and now it’s back with a vengeance.

Praying For Parker

It could be just from the pollen, the weather that can’t make up it’s mind, or the air quality.  Utah is in the top 5 for poor air quality.

Swell.

I spent this morning running around like a wild thing trying to get my ducks in a row just in case.  It’s just what you do when you are Mama to a medically fragile kid with special needs.

Keep your fingers crossed that we can get by with perhaps just an antibiotic that won’t drive his ulcerative colitis crazy?    No RSV.  No Para Flu B.  Just a blip on the radar.

sigh.
