We celebrated Parker’s 5th birthday last night. Everyone (except his big brother Brant who is currently speaking Spanish and dodging bullets while serving a mission for the LDS church) that loves our Brave Hero the most was here.
He totally got the whole present thing this year.
He knows that if he can just rip off the paper that he will be rewarded for his efforts. But for a kid with weak hand muscles this can take more gumption than you may think.
But being a typical Hodson boy means that you have waaaay more than the average share of stubborn running through your veins.
A bunch of paper and some tape are no match for our very determined newly turned 5 year old.
I’m thinking the effort was well worth the reward, no?
And of course we had to stop for a book break right. then. and. there. Parker loves himself a good book.
And his Mama loves her one very Brave Hero.

Jax does have a nissen. He has already blown through it once and had to have it redone. The bad thing about a nissen is if they wretch hard enough, they can still get formula up past it, if he didn’t have the nissen he would have projectile vomited all of his formula. So it worked for a while, but he wretched so much and I couldn’t vent him fast enough because we were in the middle of a blood draw. Then I saw formula in his throat. Nice huh?
